Šemso Ribić

Šemso was the eldest of Avdikadija’s four sons. He likely shared his brothers’ fate when Omer-pasha Latas had the sons of the Jezero kadi seized.

After his father’s persecution, Šemso decided this was no longer the place for him and moved to Sarajevo. Some of the Sarajevo Ribićs are probably his descendants. By family account, Hidajet Ribić — director of the film »Šolaja«, shot in Jezero in 1955 — was one of Šemso’s descendants.
